First, there is absolutely no reason to think these letters are genuine, when the site clearly has an agenda.
Second...the site gets to hand pick the letters....how many letters did they NOT post because they pointed out the flaws and bias of the site?

If you showed the site to every MSF participant, most of them would just give up right then and there. What seems like 90% of the people that do MSF are scared to death of the little 125 cc they are given. They are mentally unstable people that give me the impression that they are the first person to test ride the invention of the 2 wheels.
Does this mean that most of the people that see the Blood On The Highway movies in drivers ed. will not drive cars ?
I don't see anything on there saying YOU WILL DIE.
Live to ride, ride to die, I believe thats the title of the site.
Its quite clear that the maker of the site believes that if you ride, you will die, in fact he makes several posts about how each time you ride, your chance of dieing increases. However, I don't see anything on that site on how wearing gear and riding safely can greatly increase your chance of living.
Also, not all the news articles show that the rider is in the wrong, infact most of them appear to be the fault of the cager. So yea, I believe the intention of this site is to stop riding altogether. If you think otherwise then so be it.

I dont remember seeing slide after slide of dead drivers in their cars, and statistics on how eventually you will die in your car in my drivers ed class.

Apparently you didn't see the quote pulled directly from the site.

Yes, you have to consider the worst case scenario...but this site is ONLY showing the worst case, which happens to be in the VAST minority.
Its not just perception, the site is very clearly not presenting a fact based, objective view of motorcycling. How is that not obvious?
I don't see the author claiming to present a fact based take on motorcycling. I believe the entire purpose of the site is to show the worst case scenario. Again, everybody's taking an alarmist stance and screaming that the author is claiming we're all going to die. I don't see that anywhere.
The worst case scenario needs to be seen. Some people don't fully understand the risks, as is evident in the occasional thread titled "is riding really that dangerous?"

I agree there's an agenda, but I don't believe that agenda is to deter people from riding altogether.
I will repeat myself again when I say that I believe the agenda is to make everybody realize the risk involved with riding. The site does a good job of that.

That's his choice. Any half-intelligent being is going to see those pictures and conclude that riding is not as safe as some might think. Beyond that, the choice to ride is ultimately up to them.
I think responsible riders on the road send a much more obvious message than a website with pictures of biker fatalities.

I could be forgetting things though.
I think they stopped showing those movies in driver's ed before you were born.

I like the site myself. I would look at it from time to time when I first started riding. I used it as a reminder to keep on my toes. It's just another tool to break up the "complacency" that sets in every now and then.

So people are so against wearing gear, that they'd rather not ride at all, than to protect themselves and ride with the gear on?
Those are the [riders] that NEED to be turned away.

Am I supposed to list my mods here?
...No, I won't - that's dumb.
But the site isn't called "wear gear or die" its called "live to ride, ride to die".
If it was called "wear gear or get messed up way worse" and had a bunch of gear reviews as well as crash porn, I might support it.
