Default 07 R1 throttle lag

Hi everyone
Does anyone have the throttle lag on the 07 R1s, a lot of owners have this problem, or is it just the California models. Seems Yamaha is not doing anything for the owners. Read this info on R1messagenet

Yes, it is a fly by wire flaw, to fix it, you can swap an 06 throttle on it.

^ding ding....

2nd gear problems similar to the gen1 R6's.....

yamaha is onto the problem, but it likely wont get addressed for a year or so....took forever with the problems on the '06 R6r. they didn't even wanna address it until thousands of owner threatened to return the bikes.

the ycc-t on the R1 should be the same, as the R6, but the the lag isn't necessarily in the ycc-t unit itself. a speedohealer seems to alter the issue, so some people are looking at the ECU

IMHO the fly-by-wire throttle sucks. I had an '06 R6 for 3 months and sold it because I hated the throttle response that much.

Am interested in a Japanese Liter bike and was doing some research. Saw this link in Spike's sig:

http://www.yamaha2007r1.com/?cat=10

So I initially thought one person complaining, no biggie...

Then I read this on PC website:

Scroll to the last paragraph.

http://www.powercommander.com/downlo...ngI426-411.pdf

That's just bizarre.

But being "ON" all the time is pointless.

Cool, glad that link in my signature is raising some awareness haha. I don't have an R1 nor am I planning on buying one, but that seemed like something that people would want to know. I find it amazing that every person at Yamaha is like "that's just how it is, deal with it, adjust your riding style, ride in the higher RPMs"
